Pastor Melanie Bertoglio breaks down Matthew 5:27-32 to show us the progression of cultivated lust in our hearts. Adultery results from lusting after someone or something that isn’t yours. God understands this because Israel committed adultery by repeatedly turning to other gods. Eventually, God issued a certificate of divorce to Israel and great destruction followed. But God’s heart was always to be reconciled with Israel, just as His heart is for husbands and wives to remain committed and to be reconciled to each other.
